During this time, members of the community may notice police, fire, and ambulance vehicles at the school. This activity is part of a planned educational simulation for students and is not an actual emergency. The demonstration will take place off Victory Street on the Admiral Band practice field.
Prom Promise is designed to help students understand the serious consequences of impaired and distracted driving, particularly during prom season. The event provides a realistic scenario intended to encourage students to make safe and responsible choices.
The simulation is coordinated through Gulfport High School’s Law & Public Safety Career and Technical Education program and is conducted with the support of the City’s emergency response agencies. First responders and community partners work alongside students to present the demonstration and reinforce the importance of roadway safety.
Media representatives are invited to attend and cover the event. The simulation offers powerful visuals and interviews with students, educators, and emergency responders about the importance of safe decision-making during prom season.
Residents who see emergency vehicles or activity near campus during the scheduled time should know it is part of this pre-planned event.
Gulfport School District remains committed to student safety and appreciates the continued partnership with local emergency personnel, who help make this important educational program possible.
