Students learned about fire extinguishers, what to do in a crisis situation, and how to respond safely during a fire. They even had the opportunity to practice using a fire extinguisher to put out a controlled fire.

Today, Chef Trae was back in the kitchen—this time as a full-time member of our team—serving up a delicious strawberry shortcake cup for our residents!

Students worked in groups to read and annotate passages, identify the central idea, and find evidence to back up their thinking. Then, they put their ideas on chart paper and presented their work to the class.
The best part? Classmates got involved too—coming up to review the evidence and share whether they thought it really supported the group’s central idea. 🙌
Lots of teamwork, thoughtful discussion, and students learning from one another! 🧡💙

GHS Leadership Camp shoutout: In July, four students from Gulfport High School attended the RYLA Leadership Camp in Loranger, Louisiana. Maegan, Kennedy, T'yanna, and Lily represented the GHS Interact Club and acquired important skills to bring back to Gulfport High!
