Seeing all of those big Viking smiles back on campus was the best reminder of why we love what we do. Our students are already locked in, learning, and filling the building with so much great energy—and we are so ready for an amazing year ahead!
The last 2 days have been full of smiling faces, some new and some familiar. The energy has been contagious as our Vikings filled the halls, met new teachers, reconnected with friends, and kicked off another incredible school year. We can’t wait to see all the learning, growth, and memories this year will bring. Here’s to an amazing year at Bayou View Middle School, bringing nothing but excellence 💙🧡

We officially launched the new school year with our district-wide Essential Pieces convocation! Keynote speaker Dr. Adolph "Doc" Brown set an incredible tone for the day—using his signature blend of humor and heart to remind us of the power of leading with empathy and building genuine connections with every student.
Our educators and leaders spent the afternoon in targeted professional development breakout sessions, sharpening classroom strategies and equipping themselves to support student growth across all grade levels.
Superintendent Glen East closed out the day with inspiring words for the road ahead. The pieces are in place, and we can’t wait to welcome our Admirals back! 🎉⚓

Incoming 9th-grade students can pick up their schedules this Wednesday, July 22, from 5:30–6:00 p.m. at Gulfport High School. Parents are invited to attend a meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Admiral Theatre to learn more about the transition to high school and the year ahead.
All registered students can pick up their schedules in the GHS gym from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.
