At Central Elementary, Ms. Johns's 3rd grade class read a story called Dear Primo about two cousins who write letters to each other. One boy lives in America, and the other lives in Mexico. In their letters, they share different things about their lives, including the foods they eat, the activities they enjoy, and what life is like in their countries. In the story, one boy talks about eating pizza, while the other one talks about eating quesadillas! 🇺🇸🇲🇽 While discussing different cultures, traditions, and foods while celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, the class decided to connect to the story in a fun (and delicious!) way. They got to eat both pizza and quesadillas! 🍕🌮 View the post here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Gs6rwekfa/?mibextid=wwXIfr

At Bayou View Middle School, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Strong’s 7th-grade science classes became atomic engineers!

Using pipe cleaners, beads, and the periodic table, students built 3D Bohr models to visualize the arrangement of protons, neutrons, and electrons. It was amazing watching them calculate subatomic particles and bring the structure of atoms to life!
