We are so thankful for our community partner, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center! On Tuesday at Twenty-Eighth Street Elementary, Mrs. Bond’s Quest class had a guest speaker from Lynn Meadows Discovery Center come visit them and explain the history of Lynn Meadows. Mrs. Cindy DeFrances shared old photos, posters, and timelines to better help our students understand how Lynn Meadows Discovery Center came to be! She even shared upcoming projects that the discovery center is currently working on and events that are coming up that our students can enjoy with their friends and families. Mrs. Bond’s gifted students can’t wait to use all of this information gathered on their upcoming research project! Thank you Mrs. DeFrances and the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for this very captivating history presentation.

Repost from BVMS: Recently, Mr. Morningstar’s 7th-grade U.S. History students worked in groups to research and present their 13 Colonies project. Each group focused on one of the three colonial regions—New England, Middle, or Southern—and shared what they discovered with their classmates.
We love seeing our students take the lead, collaborate, and bring history to life through their presentations! 👏

BVMS Class Activity
📚 Making Main Idea Stick! 📚 Ms. Micele at BVE brought learning to life with a simple but powerful visual! While teaching main idea and key details, she used a chair to help students see how strong writing is built. Just as a chair needs its legs for support, a main idea needs strong, relevant key details to support it. Without that support, the writing—or the chair—just doesn’t stand as strong! We love seeing our teachers turn important reading and writing concepts into concrete, memorable learning experiences for students. Way to make learning meaningful, Ms. Micele! 💙🧡📖 Strong main idea + strong supporting details = strong writing! 🪑✏️🌟

Repost from WLOX: 18 Gulfport High School seniors started the “Next-Gen Shipbuilders” program this week, a partnership between the school and Bollinger Shipyards.
The yearlong course takes students out of the classroom and into Bollinger’s training center. It exposes them to several shipbuilding trades, including welding, pipefitting, ship fitting, and marine electrical.
