What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
A credential on the student transcript wherein literacy has been demonstrated in English and one other language.
Silver: Functional Fluency, Intermediate
Gold: Working Fluency, Advanced
Who Can Obtain the Seal of Bilteracy?
Anyone who is interested and dedicated to pursue this distinction.
Why Is This Important?
- Greater matriculation into higher level language courses
- Demonstrates the value of culture, heritage languages and achievement
- Creation of opportunities postsecondary-- a competitive advantage
What Are the Qualifications?
