Gulfport High School Admiral Theatre
2017-18 Season Schedule
Our 22nd Year of Excellence in Educational Theatre~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 19-20, 2017
S.E. Hinton's powerful compassionate book about young people is the source of this play that remains true to the film version which has become a modern classic. This stage version deals with real people, seen through the eyes of Ponyboy, a young "Greaser" caught up in territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids - the "Socs" - and his tough and underprivileged - "Greasers" - family and friends. This is a play about young people who are not yet hopeless, about latent decency in the midst of struggle, and about not losing touch with the residual slivers of gold within us all. Ponyboy, Johnny, Sodapop, Two-Bit, Darry, Dallas, Sandy and Chery all await you.
