Mrs. Randi Smith

I'm the Speech-Language Pathologist for Pass Road Elementary.  I work with students who have difficulty articulating specific sounds, difficulty fluently answering questions and communicating with peers and teachers in the classroom, and difficulty processing and/or expressing spoken language.

Articulation disorders are characterized by difficulty pronouncing specific sounds, for example, R's and S's.

Fluency disorders are characterized by stuttering such as part-word repetitions and blocks during conversational speech.

Language disorders are typically characterized by difficulty with answering questions in cohesive ways that apply to the topic and question asked, difficulty sequencing information, difficulty understanding spoken directions, difficulty inferencing, difficulty retelling and/or summarizing stories and information, and poor vocabulary skills judged with respect to their peers.

If you have concerns about your student, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help you determine if your child would be eligible for Speech/Language services through the school district.
