                                                           Welcome to my First Grade Class!

    My name is Cathy Mouring and I have had the privilege of working with the GSD for twenty-four years. I received a bachelor's degree from USM-Gulf Coast and a master's degree from William Carey College. I also have a reading endorsement. I have a military background and I have lived on the Gulf Coast for forty-one years.

    Some of my interests include reading, shopping, traveling, cooking, scrapbooking, and photography. I also enjoy spending time with my three grown sons, and my granddaughter.

    Teaching is very rewarding to me and I take pride in fostering a loving and nurturing environment for my students.  I am committed to making this year one of excitement, growth, and opportunity, both academically, and socially. I will guide and encourage your child, celebrating each step of the way as he or she gains a love of learning, self-confidence and the academic skills that form a foundation for continued success.
