Ms. Keisha Lacey

“Education Is the Most Powerful Weapon Which You Can Use to Change the World.”- Nelson Mandela

My name is Keisha Lacey, and I am a 1992 graduate of Dexter High School in Tylertown MS. Once I graduated from high school, I attended Jefferson Davis Community College, where I earned my associate degree in Elementary Arts in 1994. Once I received my associate's degree, I became a third-grade teacher assistant at West Elementary with the Gulfport School District until 1996. After I met and married my husband, I was offered a Pre-k teacher position at First Baptist Christian Daycare/Preschool in 1997. I continued to work at First Baptist Christian Daycare/Preschool until I became a kindergarten teacher assistant at Pass RoadElementary with Gulfport School District in 2006. Teaching has always been a passion and desire of mine. I wanted to make a positive difference in all children's lives that I came in contact. So, I decided to further my education by attending the University Of Southern Mississippi here on the Gulf Coast. In May 2022, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in General Elementary Education in Reading with a dual major in Social Studies. I am ecstatic and honored to become a first-grade teacher at Pass Road Elementary. It is my mission to install the love of learning in my students, so they can be life long learners and productive members of society!
