Sylvalia Brown graduated high school from Gulfport High in 2016, where she was a part of multiple ensembles in the choir program. This includes Madrigals, Women's Choir, Concert Choir, Quartet ensemble, and more. Upon completion of her high school years, she went on to receive her Music Education degree in Voice and Choral from The University of Southern Mississippi. While at Southern Miss, Ms. Brown was a member of the Women's choir, Concert Choir, and the Southern Chorale. In 2017, Ms. Brown was featured as the primary soloist for the Southern Invitational Choral Conference in 'Cells Planets'. She completed her Senior Recital in the spring of 2021 under the instruction of Dr. Kimberley Davis as her vocal coach during her undergraduate years. Before coming into public education, Ms. Brown served as the Music Director and Children's Director for church music.
This is Ms.Brown's third year in public education, and her second year teaching as the Head Choral Director at Gulfport Central Middle School.
