Hello and Welcome!

My name is Ms. Hinshaw, and I am honored to have you in my class this year!  

I am a graduate of both Western Carolina University and The University of Southern Mississippi.  While studying at Western Carolina University, I served as one of the drum majors of the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with concentrations in both Premed and Forensic Biology.  I recently completed a second Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of Southern Mississippi in Biological Sciences Secondary Licensure. 

I hold certifications in Project Learning Tree, GLOBE, and Leader in Me, as well and am licensed in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science by the state of Mississippi.  I am also licensed by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools with certifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Middle School Science.   

I am applying my love for biology and am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Biology at Mississippi State University.

I am excited to continue to be a part of the Gulfport High School faculty as a member of our Health and Human Services Academic Institute. I am honored to instruct both Human Anatomy and Physiology and Forensic Science this 2022 - 2023 school year. 

I look forward to a fantastic year of hands-on, face to face, field and laboratory learning experience with GHS and I look forward to meeting you!
