Miss Allison Butler

Hi Everyone!

My name is Allison Butler or as my students like to call me, Miss B. I am new to the Gulfport School District but not new to teaching school. I started teaching at a community college back in 2003 and then in 2013, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching license at William Carey. I previously taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade at Jefferson Davis County School District and fell in love with the students! I taught ELA, Social Studies and Science. I would say one of my proudest accomplishments was helping our school district go from an F to a B at J.E. Johnson Elementary school in Prentiss. My background is extensive in Science related courses, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, Kinesiology, Medical Terminology, and Biology.

I would describe myself as a lifelong learner and a Science Nerd. I am also a musician and have played the piano since I was 3 and the banjo since I was 15. I have a brother named Ralph and a sister named Michele. My mom (Sherry) and my sister are both retired school teachers so you could say it runs in the family. My father was a pharmacist and a member of Doctor's Without Borders and Mercy Ships. I became a pharmacy technician in his honor so that one day I could volunteer like he did. You never know where education could take you next!

I will do everything in my power to make sure that this school year is the most memorable and exciting school year for our students.

I look forward to meeting you all very soon!
