Mrs. Ann Tuennerman
My name is Mrs. Ann. This is my 2nd year teaching special education at West Elementary. I’m so excited to start the new school year working with our 1st-grade students.
I am proud to declare that I am a product of the New Orleans Public Education System. While many years have passed since I was a student at Sherwood Forest Elementary, Livingston Middle, and Marion Abramson High Schools, those experiences still resonate with me to this day.
Following my graduation from the University of New Orleans, I held various jobs that led me to own and operate several small businesses. While the demands of owning and operating your own business can be challenging, I always found time to give back to the community in which I worked, lived, and played. I always found tremendous joy working with the youth of today’s society.
When not at West Elementary, you can find me at William Bell Apartments every Wednesday, where I host a weekly book club. The kids and I read together. I also give them books of their own to keep and a healthy snack for the road.
My husband and I moved from New Orleans to Pass Christian in the Spring of 2020. When not working, I enjoy spending time on my husband’s sailboat and traveling. This summer, I completed a three-week hiking trip throughout Utah and California. We have three dogs, Delta, Skipper, and Peaches.
