Mrs. Dukeman is the full-time Co-Choir Director for Bayou View Middle School. This is her 5th year with the Gulfport School District. For the last 4 years, she assisted the choirs at both Bayou View Middle School and Gulfport Central Middle School. During her time at Gulfport Schools she taught classes, directed and accompanied multiple groups for concerts and traveled with the Gulfport High School Choir. Choirs from both middle schools have achieved Superiors in Performance and Sightreading at both District and State Festivals. She is currently serving as the District VIII Chair of the Mississippi Music Educator's Association, helping to organize local and state events for area choir directors and students. Teaching music literacy from an aural and kinesthetic approach is of special interest to Mrs. Dukeman. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL in 2003.
Mrs. Dukeman taught middle school choir in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2004. She has been a church musician for many years, playing piano, organ and directing choirs and bell choirs of all ages. She taught elementary choir at Word of Life Lutheran School and maintained a private piano and voice studio in St. Louis, MO for 5 years. She has served as Music Director and organist for St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Gulfport for the last 8 years. She also maintained a private piano studio here in Gulfport before coming to teach for Gulfport Schools.
