Welcome to US history! I am very excited to work with you this school year.
After graduating from Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Alabama (Go Bears!), I attended Delta State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science Education. I then began my teaching career in the Mississippi Delta at
J.Z. George High School. While there, I served on the first committee to create subject area tests in U. S. history, as well as the Superintendent's Advisory Committee. After transferring to Long Beach Middle School, I began to work on my Master's of Education degree with a
concentration in Secondary Education from William Carey University. Then, I began teaching AP US history at Gulfport High School. During this time, I began the Social Studies curriculum specialist for GHS. That began a journey of serving as the District's Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for several years and during that time, I was fortunate to teach both world history and US history at Gulfport Central Middle School. My family then moved to Phoenix, Arizona and I homeschooled my children. I have two boys - one who is 24 years old and one who is a junior at Gulfport High School. After a brief visit to Alabama, I returned to Gulfport High School to again teach
AP US history. This is truly my passion and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach your students. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Go Admirals!!
