Hello! My name is Karen Gouin and I have the distinct  honor of being Bayou View Elementary's 4th Grade Assistant Teacher. I have been associated with the Bayou View family since my children started attending in 1984. My husband, Robert Gouin was the Head Coach for the  Bayou View Vikings Football for several years and earned them the title, "City Champs" in 1992! I also assisted with the cheerleaders at that time. Now our daughter is a teacher in the Gulfport School District and our son is with the Gulfport Police Department. We have 4 amazing grandchildren who also attend Bayou View Schools. 

 

I attended Bayou View Junior High and graduated from Gulfport East in 1976, so I have been a Viking for 48 years! WOW! I attended MGCCC, Jeff Davis Campus taking courses in Business Administration and Banking. I worked for Hancock Bank for 25 years in various capacities. Now in my retirement I can't think of anything that I would rather do, than be a part in helping children learn and grow. It is very rewarding and I truly love children. 

 

I am looking forward to this 2018-2019 school year!
