Dear Parents,
Welcome to Kindergarten! I hope you have had a wonderful summer! I am looking forward to the upcoming school year as I get to know and work with your child. As an early education educator, I understand that communication between parents and school is an important part of your child’s learning. We will need to communicate regularly in order to ensure your child makes a smooth transition from school to home each day.
Please be sure to alert me of any concerns you may have; I will inform you of any concerns that arise. To assist in regular communication, be sure to check your child’s Monthly Behavior Chart each night. It contains a behavior chart which lists the daily behaviors. This must be initialed daily. Your child’s homework will consists of skills covered previously and for that week.  It must be initialed nightly.
To further assist your child, please be sure to notify me of any changes that may be occurring at home which may affect your child’s behavior. Sometimes parents not being home, illnesses, visiting relatives, or nightmares may show up in the classroom as anger, fear, sadness, or excitement. I will do my very best to help your child adjust to any changes when I know when he or she is upset.
The best ways to keep contact with me would be through a note, an email, or a phone call to the school. If for any reason you must speak with me in person, please schedule an appointment for before or after school.
Above all, please know that our doors are always open. If you feel the need to speak to me concerning your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good communication between the school and the home is important. You can send a note; call the school at 865-4659, or by email ( Kindergarten Conference time is from 8:30-9:00 Monday – Thursday.
