Child Find

Child Find is a process required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to identify, locate, and evaluate all children from birth to 21 years of age who may have disabilities and may need early intervention or special education services.

The Child Find Coordinator will ensure that the Mississippi Referral-to-Placement process is implemented in order to determine a child's eligibility for services in the area of Special Education, Speech Therapy and other Related Services, 504 and Teacher Support Team intervention plans.

Parents, service agencies, preschool teachers, physicians, or any other concerned individual may refer a child to the Child Find Coordinator of the Gulfport School District, Ms. Elizabeth Massey at 228-865-4691 or elizabeth.massey@gulfportschools.org
