After attending the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg I began my professional background employed in the computer department of the controlling office for a local shoe retailer and eventually moved toward the education field at the Junior College level in the Information Technology Department.  I cherish the tremendous learning experience received there.  I began with data entry and student loan collection accounting, accounts payable, and payroll.  I moved upward from there to Production Supervisor and was involved in programming for and converting information regarding purchased campuses that made our learning institution one of the largest in the nation.  Before I ended my employment there I had attained and held the position of Computer Programmer for several years.  Throughout that part of my life I was fortunate enough to become the Secretary of the governing board and Youth Director for our Church as well as being voted into the position of Secretary for the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Data Processing Management Association.

The most rewarding professional position I have ever been blessed enough to obtain began with the Gulfport School District soon afterward.  I started as a part-time employee and quickly transitioned into a full-time employee.  First hired into a highly rewarding district program that encouraged and aided teen parents in continuing on in school, receive their high school diplomas, and blaze their paths through post high school education, I moved to the elementary schools several years later.  This is my twenty-first year at Pass Road Elementary.  Here I have had the opportunity to be touched daily by children from Kindergarten through Sixth grade until Sixth grade moved to the Middle Schools and Kindergarten through Fifth grade since then.  I still find myself learning more and newer things from the students on a daily basis.  The students are wonderful teachers themselves.  I love it!!!

I treasure my husband and daughter.  They are my reasons for being.  Family means everything to me.  As each student passes the threshold of our humble school they become a part of me as much as my own family.  I believe in and love every one of them.  I have high expectations of myself, of them, and for them.  The children are our future and our future looks brilliant to me.  My most earnest prayer is to make a difference in the life of at least one child.  Only then will I be able to be considered even a partial "Success".
