Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Gulfport High School Middle College/Dual Credit!
I began my career in the Gulfport School District at GCMS and taught STEM (8th grade). The following year I moved into the position of Assistant Principal at Anniston Elementary where I served there for two years. This past year I was the principal at GCMS and then welcomed the opportunity to become a part of the GHS family. I also served in another district as assistant principal at Natchez High School before moving to the coast.
I am looking forward to working with and serving some of the best educators, staff, students, and parents in our district! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve our community and district.
My studies started with an elementary education degree in 1995 from the University of Southern Mississippi. I then continued my education and graduated from Alcorn State University with a masters’ degree in Secondary Science in 2001 through a NASA fellowship. Then I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011 with a Specialist's Degree in Educational Leadership.
I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern Mississippi. I received my National Board Certification in 2001 and renewed in 2011 in the area of Career and Technical Education/Early Adolescence Through Young Adulthood.
I have taught First, sixth, eighth, and ninth-twelfth grades, this will be my twenty-third year in education. I also taught on the community college level for over 10 years at Copiah Lincoln Community College. Please contact me if you have any questions about our Middle College, Dual Enrollment, or testing areas.
