    In the Gulfport School District the cancellation of school takes place only during circumstances such as extreme weather, equipment failure, or public crisis.  The Board of Trustees and administrators  are aware of the hardship that can be caused by an abrupt cancellation of school.  Therefore, school will not be cancelled unless a significant safety risk has been created by unusural circumstances.

    If the need to cancel school arises, the Gulfport School District will use their One Call System to notify parents of the closure.  The District will also use local media, facebook, and twitter as a means of notifying families concerning the closure of school.  Please remember - The Gulfport School District is NOT part of the Harrison County School District.

    Special Note to Parents - Please notify your neighborhood school of phone number changes so the Gulfport School District can keep the One Call System updated.  If you have questions, please contact your neighborhood school.
