        Hugh I. Peck Award 

        Hugh I. Peck Memorial Research Award was established in memory of Dr. Hugh Peck, former Executive Director of PREPS.  It was awarded to the Gulfport School District for its research in designing the high school experience in Mississippi.  

        Accreditation Level 

        The Gulfport School District has been recognized as a SACS/CASI Quality School District 

        The Gulfport School District has been assigned the overall assessment level of Highly Functioning. 

        This assessment level assignment is the highest level of accreditation and indicates that the Gulfport School District has met the accreditation requirements for the Commitment to Continuous Improvement standard.

        Dan Merritt Courage Award

        Four-Time Recipient

        Presented to Gulfport School District for having the courage to take professional risk for the greater good of the school district.  The Gulfport School District's work with Academic Institutes, the Middle College concept, and the Career Pathways concept have provided school districts across the State of Mississippi a roadmap for redesigning Mississippi High School.
