Hello All! My name is Yvonna Macon, and I am the brand new 7th grade English teacher at Bayou View Middle School. I was born and raised in Starkville, MS. I coached and taught at J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton, MS. Recently I moved to Gulfport, MS to expand my teaching ability in the Gulfport School District. I received my bachelors and master's degree from Mississippi State University. During my tenure at MSU, I received an internship with our campus Fellowship of Christian Athlete Organization that was led by Mr. Jimmy Gilford. Along with being an educator, I am also the 8th grade girls basketball coach. 

I believe in educating students to become the best versions of themselves. My leadership philosophy is rooted in inspiring, educating, and empowering students to reach beyond the limits of their comfort zones. I do my best to create a safe and engaging learning environment for each student that enters my classroom. My goal is for every student to grow and challenge themselves on a daily basis. I am looking forward to an amazing 2022-2023 school year.
