What we will be doing in class this week!

    Hi 7th grade families!!! Welcome back to the 8th week of 7th Grade!!

    Lesson Plans for the week of September 11th through September 15th.

    Standards:

    • RL 7.1: Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text

    • RL.7.2: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze in detail its development over the course of the text including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an accurate summary of the text based upon this analysis.

    • RL.7.3: Analyze how particular elements of a literary text interact (e.g., how setting shapes the characters or plot).

    • RL. 7.4 - Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the impact of rhymes and other repetitions of sounds (e.g., alliteration) on a specific verse or stanza of a poem or section of a story or drama.

    • L.7.4: Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases based on grade 7 reading and content, choosing flexibly from a range of strategies.

    • W.7.3: Use precise words and phrases, relevant descriptive details, and sensory language to capture the action and convey experiences and events.

    • W. 7.5 With some guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on how well purpose and audience have been addressed.

    Monday, September 11th

    TI/GP: The teacher and students will review the answers to the stations completed last week.IP/GP: TSW begin working on the final copy of their The Outsiders characterization project in groups. 

    Tuesday, September 12th

    TSW: Take a Mixed Practice test on skills covered the week prior(inferencing, figurative language, citing evidence, theme) 

    IP: TSW: complete own path iReady lesson

    Wednesday, September 13th

    TI/GP: The teacher and the students will go over commonly missed questions from yesterday’s 

    IP/GP: TSW complete the final copy of their The Outsiders characterization project in groups. 

    Thursday, September 14th

    TI: TTW introduce the Outsiders “Things Are Rough All Over” research project to students and assign partners. Students will be conducting a group research project related to one of the several real-world issues presented in S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders.  The research should focus on how their group’s issue specifically impacts teenagers.

    GP: TSW will begin working with their partner to research their real-world teen issue.

    Friday, September 15th

    IP:TSW take a multiple choice vocabulary quiz on words covered in the weekly reading. 

    GP: TSW will continue working with their partner to research their real-world teen issue. 

    Homework- Any assignments not completed in class.

    ELA Homework Schedule- Due Wednesdays and Fridays.

    Math Homework Schedule- Weekly Agenda sent home.
