2010 Title 1 Distinguished School

     Pass Road Elementary was the recipient of a very distinguished award from the Mississippi Department of Education.  Only two of these awards are given each year and with Mr. Hudson’s guidance and our schools excellent teachers Pass Road Elementary was given this award for our school’s commitment to closing the achievement gaps between student groups for three straight years.   The award was not just a piece of paper the school also received over $31,000 dollars to help Pass Road Elementary continue its excellent education of our students.

Kindergarten Night

     Mr. Hudson met with over 100 nervous Kindergarten parents to alleviate their fears of their children beginning school.  He explained what is to be expected of students going to Pass Road Elementary with stories and humor that delighted the crowd. Our Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Lovett, Ms. Walker and Ms. Fairley, were introduced to the parents.   The students were then escorted to their new classrooms and tested to see where they stood in relation to the objectives that have to be mastered by the end of the year. Mr. Hudson gave the parents a tour of the school while the students were busy testing.  To end our exciting night “Big Mamma” and her team of helpers hosted a cook out for all the hungry new Sea Kings!
