Bryan Caldwell is a Gulfport native and a product of the Gulfport School
District. An educator for 26 years, Mr. Caldwell came to BVMS from
Gulfport High School where he served as a U.S. History teacher and Head
Boys' Basketball Coach from 1993-2004. He has also coached and
taught at Harrison Central High School, St. Paul's High School (Covington,
LA), and Southern Miss. Mr. Caldwell holds three degrees from the
University of Southern Mississippi: Bachelors (1983), Masters (1986) and
Specialist (2000).
Mr. Caldwell has been the recipient of several awards, including
Sun-Herald Boys' Basketball Coach of the Year (1993, 2002),
Clarion-Ledger Boys' Basketball Coach of the Year (2002), and MAC
Mississippi Coach of the Year (2002). In 2002, Coach Caldwell's
Admiral Basketball team won the 5A State Championship with a record of
37-1, ending the season ranked #1 in Mississippi. Mr. Caldwell was
also named the Gulfport High School Teacher of the Year (2001), and was
the recipient of the Kiwanis Club Service and Leadership Award (2003).
Mr. Caldwell's wife, Kellee, is a 1st grade teacher at Anniston Avenue
Elementary. They have two children attending Gulfport High School:
Claire, a Senior, and Reid, a Freshman. |
