Bayou View Receives the National Blue Ribbon School Award

On Thursday, January 11, State Superintendent of Education Hank Bounds was present at Bayou View Elementary  to announce that Bayou View Elementary has been nominated to be a  National Blue Ribbon School, which is education's highest honor.  Mr. Bounds stated that it is an amazing feat when a school exceeds the growth expectations in a normal year.  However, to exceed growth expectations in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is nothing short of miraculous.  Dr. Bounds commended the dedication of the students, their parents, the principal and assistant principal and the entire Bayou View Staff.
