GHS Orchestra Performs In Schones Deutschland |
|
GHS Chamber Orchestra hosted by Carl Bechstein Gymnasium in Erkner Germany |
|
|
| Guten tag, Damen Und Herren! The date
has been set for the Gulfport High School Chamber Orchestra to go to
Germany for their cultural exchange and performances in the Berlin area.
The Carl Bechstein-Gymnasium, an academic high school in Erkner, near
Berlin, is hosting our students for several days of performing and
visiting historical sites. Herr Joerg Schulze at Carl Bechstein-Gymnasium
has programmed the visit and has included many exciting activities for our
students. Herr Schulze, Principal Ruediger Konertz, the German Foreign
Office in Berlin, and Consul General Hans-Joerg Brunner and his staff at
the German Consulate General Office in Atlanta have worked long hours in
making the arrangements for this trip. This cultural exchange has been
made possible through the generous financial support of the German
Parliament TransAtlantik Programm and the GHS Orchestra patrons on the
Mississippi Gulf Coast. On March 21, the GHS Chamber Orchestra, Mr. Ulmer, and associates will depart for Atlanta. On March 22 they will board Lufthansa German Airlines in Atlanta for the long-awaited journey. From the orchestra, Mr. Ulmer and associates: Danke, Danke, Danke! |

The Gulfport School District offers class instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass in grades four through twelve in all schools. The goal of the orchestra program is to identify students with musical talent who have the desire to learn a stringed instrument and, with a diverse staff of professionals teachers, nurture their growth and development. |
